Android Lollipop 5.1.0 factory image

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0

Note that as of 10 Mar 2015 only the TGZ file is posted - which means you have to flash the file, and this requires erasing all data on your phone. At some point there will be a ZIP file posted (somewhere) which can be sideloaded. This does not require wiping the phone.

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0

If you use WugFresh to flash it you can do it without loosing data. There is a no wiping option.

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0

I just did a clean install of 5.1 and it is butter smooth. Awesome. Anyone who waits for future updates of Lolly and doesn't install it now is a fool. It runs perfect.

Any better battery life?

Lol. That explains why I wasn't able to sideload 5.1 after about two hours of trying and researching! I had only done it once before when 5.0 came out and remembered it going very smoothly. I feel so utterly stupid for not recognizing that it was not an actual .zip file. Thanks for your post!

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0

The real OTA files are now available. Just Google Nexus5 5.1 OTA.

The link to the OTA file was posted by Phil on front page, yesterday. Please take note - there were two links, one each for the two current versions (5.0 or 5.0.1). You might want to check your version name under Settings --> About Phone, before you download the file. My sideload was smooth...as expected.
