Google publicly stated in the earnings conference call that the market hadn't passed the 100,000 mark yet. Considering that the only ones that know for sure is Google, you shouldn't believe what you read on other sites.

Depends what Google include in their figures. Do they include apps that are regionally specific, side loaded from other markets like Slide Me, available direct from the developer etc?

To be honest, I can't really get excited about a raw number, that includes a huge amount of duplication with free and paid versions etc. and so many sub par apps. What does excite me is the critical mass of devices in the market and Andoid Market's increasing capability to service the demand for paid apps internationally (which needs to accelerate). These are the factors which will draw in quality development to the platform.

Exactly. According to Google, the Market just passed the 1 Billion mark downloads and the 70k apps milestone. By that rate, it will be few months before Google officially announces 100k milestone.

Google does not include many of our favorite apps like Titanium paid edition. Androilib is now at 94629.

Umm Google just announced several days ago that it just hit 70,000. So I don't think it will hit 100k already. Probably by the end of the year.
