Android Market Update

I got the market push last night. I don't like it. 3.99 to watch a movie on a 4 inch screen? Are you kidding me. I have Netflix a nook and the nook app on my phone. I have no interest in Google books or movies. All I want is access to apps and games. I want the old market app back. If I wanted a phone I had no control over then I would have bought one of those fascist ass iPhones!!!

There are others who have an interest in such things. I don't think it's really possible to customize any app store so that it only shows what you want - I'm not sure that offering more things equates to "having no control over" your phone.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can just uninstall the update if you want the old market. Or you can just, y'know, click the "Apps" button once you open the market.... no tantrum required. ;)

I just got the update last night (while I was sleeping I guess LOL) because I was just on the Market late last night and it was the same ol market. And as I was reading this thread, I thought to myself. "Hmm I wonder when I am going to get the update" and when I clicked on the Market, it was the newest one. :)

I just think if you want to buy Google books then install the books app and if you want to rent a movie than do it through YouTube. To me the android market should be about the android apps. And believe me I've unistalled it 5 times and it just keeps reinstalling the new one. And If you pick on me about tantrums then I'll just take my ball and go home :-)

I actually like the new look. Got the push update the other day. Its funny, my buddy has a galaxy s and still has yet to get it.

I have a Samsung Epic on Sprint. I recently got the Android Market update. In a word, it sucks.

It lists available updates which don't update. It constantly gets stuck on the "loading" screen. The old market worked fine, the new one seems to be full of bugs.

I've had the same issue with updating apps. My Thunderbolt will report an update has downloaded and installed successfully while the new Market app stays stuck in downloading status until it is closed and reopened.

I havent noticed any bugs on my end as of yet and I have been installing quite a few apps in the new market.

?knocks on wood?

I got it a couple of days ago.

I prefer the old one. But, eh. It doesn't bother me. Don't really care, either way.

I tried a version of Market that I found in one of the Android Devs G+ stream, I quite liked it. Although here in the UK my devices haven't has the push update - am I right in thinking that they've done away with "Just In" section for new games and apps?

Seriously Google, how hard do you want to make it for new developers to get their apps noticed? It's a common misconception that there is no quality apps or games on Android, the case is really that there's plenty if you really rummage around, but most of it is buried under a sea of irrelevant ****e making it impossible for the consumer to really dig any deeper than the top 20 of a category.
