Android Market updated itself?

I gotta say the new version doesn't seem more intuitive, it just contains a lot of additional monetization tweaks. (Advertised apps, movie rentals and book offers) It's no longer tweaked for dual-screen operation and it seems a lot slower, plus software updater is not as stable. It corrupted my Angry Birds (stupid I know), forcing a full uninstall/reinstall.

Perhaps this is a geographic thing, or a gradual rollout of the app.

That's what I woke up to. This update was entirely automatic and with no warning. I think I may be able to get used to it eventually though. Also, be aware that there are claims the app ranking system and app search are partially broken.

the app kills my internet connection. I've tried 2 different routers. tried full att 3g.

wifi or 3g indicators turn white from the normal green, then disappear. reception bars turn white, then back to green.
