Android marshmallow 6.0

I agree their 90 day update promise policy for the one m8 has been a disgrace. The one m8 has not had an android version update for now a period of 1 year which is not satisfactory for a company and phone of high expectations.

From what I hear it will be another long time until android marshmallow 6.0 is released in Europe. It's only in certification stage

The 90 day advantage is only in the U.S. available, not in europe, so we can wait a long time, en probbarly wo won't get the 6.0.1 'emoji' update because this is already trailing since december 2nd...

Update now available in the UK! I've downloaded and installed the 3 smaller files and will install Marshmallow tonight. At last!!

Can't swipe up to open google search any more, lost all my album art and I have CTO violate each one individually, the keyboard has forgot all my custom spellings, so so far I don't like it.

Were you able to access the quick-settings menu from the lock screen in Android L? It seems you can now (or maybe you could before and I never realised). Which is a pain as someone can mess with settings if you leave the phone unattended.. and another additional worry is that they can toggle the NFC, which could be a concern for those who use tap&pay (like me)?

Got new update on my HTC One M8 3 days ago (PL unlocked) - so far it's a lot smoother than Lollipop / Sense 6, there are more customization options, Material design looks even better. About battery life - I didn't realize any progress, even if there is any it's not so significant. Generally I'm happy with the update, hope you guys'll get it soon.

Yes I just got update for Rogers Canada too! I regretted installing lollipop in the end so I will install marshmallow with out hesitation because it can't be worse than lollipop can it?

Yes it is worse. From the tacky google emjois that google makes it use (yes it is google not htc, google owns Android) to the notifications that really shouldn't be there to general hassles it causes the all round awesomeness of htc

Many problems and bugs with the updates. That's why I'm still on Kit Kat. My M8 still running with 0 issues. No lag and super battery life with upto 7 hours onscreen time.
I'm just a bit fed up with force stopping the update every few days.

No Lollipop, no Marshmallow for me as I don't want to risk my phone becoming rubbish.

I have the HTC M8 and even if HTC decide to update the m8 to Android N I won't be updating. I have learnt to my pain that updating to the latest OS can be hit or miss. Usually, you need to have a capable hardware to run new OS and the extra demand they put on the system as a whole. HTC one m8 works best on KitKat IMHO.

I skipped the OTA upgrade and flashed the RUU directly. Once I got the hang of working in a console again, things went great. Even got adoptable storage working correctly. The old M8 is as good as new.

I bought a new m8 two days ago. Afaik marshmallow update was released a long time ago but I cannot have it. When I check the updates manually, its up to date. What should I do ?
