Ever since I switched from iPhone to Android (S7) I started noticing more people using Android phones over iPhone. Is it just me or is it because I started using Android?
Has iPhone lost the popularity and just got bored with iOS?

I see 10 iPhones for every Android but that's just my small little world.

Yeah I wonder if this is area dependent. Over half of my contacts have iPhones. At work, it's to the point that it is expected that someone has an iPhone charger for you to borrow. Now for Android on the other hand, not so much. It's not strange to have an Android phone, it's just less common.

Definitely depends on where you at I guess. My workplace definitely has more Android user than iPhone.

I think its a matter of application that suit for the user. I was an iPhone user for many years and relied on Jailbreaks and now that Jailbreak community has been almost non existence, iPhone is just an iPhone and nothing special about it. Yes, its reliable but after using the S7 for a little over a month, I realized that this phone is close to the quality and dependability of the iPhone and much more since its more open. I like to tweak things and getting free stuff and so Android works for me.

For me, it's mostly a mix of either Samsung or Apple for what most people use. It depends on where I am. For instance, at work more people have Androids than iPhones. But, if I go to say, Starbucks, then it becomes a different story as the demographic changes.

One day, I'd like to sit at a mall on a busy Sunday and just pay attention to what people are carrying around. Tally it up on a sheet of paper and see what it works out to.

I usually see a mix of Android phones and iPhones.

Even though the stats do say that Android is more popular worldwide, in the real-world, that really depends on location.

Head into a developed area and you'll likely see a good mix of flagship Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 along with some iPhones mixed together. Head into a less-developed area and you'll likely see either older iPhones or cheaper Android devices.

As a quick note, ever since the Nexus 6P was a thing, I've been seeing that thing quite frequently.

It could very well be that; or it could be the specific group of users with which you surround yourself; or what kind of adversiting for different platforms is more rampant/popular in you area... You never know! I love coming up with theories for things! That's the Sociology student in me, haha.

My co-workers seem to have iPhones, and my friend group does as well. I'd say it's maybe 60/40 for Apple vs Android.

In the US numbers are much closer thank global for total market share. The most recent numbers show Android at 53.3% of the US subscribershare with Apple in 2nd at 42.9%. Which is obviously pretty close to 5 Androids for every 4 iPhones. Windows is in 3rd place with 2.9%, so there are approximately 18 Android devices for every Windows device. RIM (Blackberry) is the trailer at .9%, so so 1 of those for every 60 Androids. Out of 20 random phones in the US, you should expect to see about 11 Androids, 8-9 iPhones, 0-1 Windows Phone and 0 Blackberrys. Results will vary depending on where you pick the phones (schools, tech businesses, construction sites, garbage cans, etc).
