Android Noob Needs Rooting Help

Sorry to make a new thread but I'm having trouble rooting my Fascinate.

I installed the drivers and tried the v2 root method but it says "error phone not found" after it tries to push the files...

Then I tried the old command prompt method and everything worked but su wasn't installed correctly...

I have the latest update if that matters...

Once again sorry for the new thread but I'm lost

Don't know if it will help you or not, but I had some problems rooting as well. Run a search for my user name and see if that thread helps you at all. It is basically nameBrandon walking me through the long method of rooting the Fasci.

You used the wrong driver files for your computer, if you got the 64 bit install the 32 or vice versa. I was having the same problem until I tried the other drivers.

I'm using the 64 bit drivers and Windows 7 64 bit.

It says its connected but when it tries to push the files it says

Error cannot find phone

Then it restarts and I'm not rooted...

here's a few things to check out try

your phone needs to be unlocked after it reboots.


try running adb devices when your phone is plugged in, what does it show?


what does the phone show up as in device manager

I ram out again and unlocked my phone and it gave me the same error.

I ran adb devices and it shows up as 1500*******(not sure if I need keep the rest private)...

Our shows up as Samsung Composite Android Device in the device menu.

Any other ideas?

I'm desperate to debing and unbloat my phone.
