Android not loading into Recovery Mode

AC Question

Hello Experts!

I was trying to install a custom ROM into my lava A71 mobile. For this I tried installing TWRP recovery, which seems to be successfully installed as per the messages in the command prompt.

However, now I am not able to load into the custom TWRP recovery. Whenever, I try to boot into recovery mode (volume up + power buttons; this combination always worked earlier), it always gets stuck in the lava boot screen, and nothing happens
afterwards. I am able to boot normally (without going into recovery) though.

Another observation here is that when I do boot into android, I am not able to install/update any app either using Play Store (error 963), or directly from the APK files. Clearing the cache/data/restoring all updates of play store didn't help here either.

Even though I am not sure if these two are related, the second problem started only after the first one, which is why I though it would good to have it posted here.

I would love to know how to proceed with my installation of the custom ROM, since I am kinda stuck here with no solution in sight, even after extensive google searches.

Regards,
Subhasis

I tried to flash the TWRP image file using the below commands in commands prompt, one the phone was in the fastboot mode:

fastboot flash recovery <file name>

I restated the phone once I got the success message.

Thanks!
Subhasis
