Any ideas on why android OS would keep the phone awake the entire time it's been off the charger? For the last 8 hours it was sitting next to my bed as well.

I clicked through every other running process and while Facebook (for no reason) kept my phone awake for 1.5 hours nothing else was more than about 10 minutes.

Bluetooth scanning is off and I don't have that gas app people have complained about.

Going to try running my phone today without Trillian, Skype, and lync running (all for work since we can't decide on a single messenger to use lol).

A reboot and a wipe cache, no more wake lock. Fired up my 3 messaging apps and still all good.

look slike you have some problem with your cellular networks. its all yellow. Mine is all dark green.

that could be reason for the drain

What weather app are you using? WeatherBug and having Bluetooth on wouldn't let my phone doze. I uninstalled Weatherbug and doze started working again.

My cell signal does cause extra drain but it's never caused wakelocks before on any phone.

I use whether underground for weather.

Since wiping cache and rebooting the phone has not wakelocked again so far today even with trillian/skype/lync all running. I'll keep an eye on it and report back if it returns or I figure out what caused it.

Yeah ,at home I'm in a weak signal area with one of the carriers I'm on . Graph is mostly yellow because of weak signal
But no Wakelocks
Yeah be curious to know what caused it once you know

I've looked everywhere, tried every suggestion possible but still the phone reports my WiFi is active all day despite me switching it off when I leave for work until I get home. Google play services reflects that the WiFi is being used as it reports packets being received and sent!? To and from where!!! Google play services is always high on the list of used apps/services.

I have literally turned everything off, wiped cache, uninstalled, reinstalled etc etc...

The phone is amazing but this small issue bugs me, is it a bug in marshmallow? Or is my WiFi just not switching off all day?

I'm new to android/Nexus so if this is a known quirk of android please tell me and I'll stop wasting my time trying to fix it!!!

Have you tried turning off 'network notifications', under WiFi>advanced? Also, since the 6P has no built in flashlight toggle, be very careful which one you install. Some (and other types of shops too) are know to send huge amounts of data to God knows where. There is also a 'Keep WiFi on during s sleep' setting in there.

Notifications are off, I don't use any flashlight apps and I have keep wifi on when plugged in only.

As you can see from the picture, the WiFi shows as being active all day. What I also find odd is my network signal showing as yellow when I get a really good signal at work and the phone just sits on my desk all day. Is it going yellow when it is dozing?

Yeah.. Try disabling that and see if that fix your issue. I got a new phone recently and my old device never Dozed. I was able to determine to apps kept it from doing and now my replacement Dozes.

I have the same issue - battery stats reports WiFi as always on, and I never use WiFi. Tried to clean cache, it helped for a couple of hours, but then it came back. I think it's a bug on Marshmallow, and for some reason it doesn't affect all phones. And I'm not using Google Now.

I have the same exact issue as OP. Android OS keeps phone awake for long continuous stretches of time. I reset it, goes away for a while but then comes back. Thoughts?? I have just standard apps installed from large app vendors, nothing crazy.

Thanks for the info. I tried switching off Google now last night, switched off WiFi too and whilst it does look like the phone dozed, (well it must have as I went to bed on 23% and got up 8 hours later on 23%) WiFi stayed on! It can't be on though surely...?

A cache wipe and a reset seems to have fixed it for now. I did turn off all my messaging apps last night since the work week is over. I'll run them tonight to confirm none of them are causing the phone not to doze.

I am having the same problem, I factory reset my phone and everything was fine for a few weeks and now i have no idea what has made the phone go awake all this time!
