Android OS data Usage?

I have noticed that the Android OS is using up to 500mb of data per month even more while on wifi. I wanted to know if this is normal, and what you see for Android OS data usage. Its odd I see it going up especially when i am on the web browser.

Web browsers use data. So does updating apps.

But wouldn't the data be shown under the individual app itself, and not the Android OS?
