I have Android pay and it requires that I have a lock screen with a pin or a pattern. Is there any way that I can just use the swipe to unlock during the day I don't use Android pay that often

From everything that I know...the answer is No...and that is one of the reasons that I haven't initatated or used Android Pay.

I figure that eventually the next version of Android will probably force everyone to use a PIN or Patten, but personally I am holding out until then, or at least until I have to actually use Android Pay.

I disabled it but still don't have the swipe option to unlock the screen. Should I factory reset it?

You can avoid putting your pin or pattern in all the time with trusted locations and trusted devices.

The pin or pattern or fingerprint will always be required due to banks insisting on it. It is a security measure.
