OK. So heard via AC that Android Pay is making its way to the UK at the end of March. Nothing more specific than that.

When it eventually gets here will it be in the form of an app that you download from the Play Store? Or will it be included in a software upgrade?

Anyone know who's already using it?

Cheers.

Nexus 5X is the business!

I successfully enabled and installed an update to the Android Pay app at the weekend through the Play Store (stock, unrooted).
I already had the app in my wish list so simply clicked enable and then updated.

I've not been able to add my existing card (on my Google Account) in the app yet, and there are currently no UK specific support pages indicating which banks and cards are / will be supported.

NB: I had been able to enable the app prior to this, but since Sunday the app remains enabled after a reboot and has persisted despite the March OTA.

I'm really looking forward to this. Have been for ages. Hopefully the wait will be worth it and my bank will support it.

.

Lloyds and Halifax will be.
Halifax have already started on their help pages.

I'm hoping to hear more about Android Pay rolling out to more countries at I/O so I guess I'll have to wait and see :)

Well, it looks like one of the retailers that have signed up to Android Pay has provided pictures of the POS that advertises they now accept it as a method of payment.

Hopefully this means that Android Pay is launching here soon :)

Anyone used it in the UK yet? Did it work ok? Any issues arise?

My girlfriend has used it twice in M&S and Boots on launch day. Unlocked her phone and paid without opening the Android Pay app. Fast and convenient. She's not a geek but even she was impressed.

I used it tonight for the first time in the co-op. Very handy, I just unlocked the Nexus with the fingerprint sensor and held it against the reader and it beeped straight away.

I've worked out why at least one loyalty card doesn't have a barcode. Starbucks doesn't as it is a stored value card, no need for a barcode if you are using Android Pay. All Android Pay needs to know is the card number to add the "points" to.

I've used Android Pay in Co Op and McDonalds so far! Very happy. Had to switch banks though cause mine wasn't supporting it.

Finally started using Android Pay over the past 2 weeks. Morrison's, TESCO, Pret and Eat so far so good no issues.

Tried Philomena's Irish Bar and Pub in London took a couple of attempts but finally it went through, they did have an older looking terminal though.

McDonalds hit and miss, I tried three so far and 2 accepted it. After explaining it was Android Pay not Apple Pay the most recent store said they won't accept payment by any phone as the payment doesn't go through.

I have found that certain Verifone terminals have issues with Android Pay, they work but sometimes take a couple of attempts.

Anyone know if we'll be getting Android Wear support soon? Would be great just to swipe my watch over the terminal!
