Android Central Question
Phone: Cat S31
Android Version 8.1.0
Service Provider: Straight talk on AT&T SIM.
Airplane Mode: Off
DND: Off
Call Forwarding: Off (both on the phone and via the carrier)
Ringer Volume: Full
Problem: Phone rings and displays incoming call normally ONLY when receiving calls with blocked caller ID i.e. "Private Number" but seems to block all other calls. Numbers being blocked are NOT on the phone's blocked caller list. I have checked multiple times.
Test call from home landline with the caller ID unblocked results in call routed to voicemail after only two "rings" heard on landline phone the call is being placed from. The called android phone never rings or displays the incoming call screen
at all but does immediately display missed call message.
Test call from same landline with caller ID blocked by *67: Results in Android phone ringing and displaying the call normally. Call be answered normally.
The above results duplicated perfectly multiple times from multiple numbers, landline and mobile. Same result no matter what number the test call originates from. None of the originating numbers are on the Android phone's blocked number list. Even so, sole determining factor as to whether the android phone rings appears to be whether the originating number's caller ID is available. Caller ID available = no ringing, no incoming call screen and immediate missed call alert with call going to voicemail. Caller ID blocked i.e. "Private Number" = normal ringing and incoming call screen display. Call can be answered normally.
No apps added or any other changes I'm aware of made to the phone recently. Any ideas? Thanks.
