Android Pie 9.0 fullscreen navigation gestures- red silhouette of navigation bar still shows

I updated my Galaxy S8 to Android Pie 9.0 and opted to get rid of the navigation bar in to have fullscreen gestures instead. It works perfectly fine, but a red silhouette trace of the navigation bar is still present. It is very transparent so I cannot see it when normally using most apps, but it is apparent when opening an app that is white or lightly colored. How do I fix this?

Do you mean you have burn-in navigation bar in screen?

Sounds like a burnt in screen. Either you live with it or have a screen replacement.
