android pie - how do I clear notifications ?

hello all !

I get the notifications I have selected at the top of my lock-screen fine, but once I have seen them, I would like to "clear them" all at once without having to open each one -

the last version of android I have been using was marshmallow and I had an offer of "clear notifications" under the list - here (android 9) all I get under the list is "manage notifications" which takes me back to the app list...

is there a way to CLEAR THEM ALL ?

At least on Pixel, I can swipe down and the manage notifications and clear all options come up.

When you pull down the notification panel, at the very bottom are two links/buttons. They are "Notification settings" and "Clear". Clicking "Clear" is what you want to do.

Yeah just click clear as seen below.

what I have is a small recycle bin... and it does the job... yeah!!!
