Android Pie Notifications need to be opened 2 times for them the disappear.

I have a Galaxy S9+ and when I receive a notification from GroupMe, Facebook, Instagram, Text Message and any other app, I swipe down on the status bar and open my notification. The notification used to disappear after that prior to the Pie update. Now after the Pie update the notification stays on the status bar and I have to swipe down again to get it to disappear even though there is no new actual notification. It's an extra step I have to do each time just to clear the original notification. This is extremely annoying when in a group chat or when I receive hundreds of notification a day. Always having to swipe down to see if I have an actual notification or if it is just a leftover from the prior notification. Please help if possible. Thank you in advance!
