Since the project triple thing it wouldn't surprise me if we see R for the Note 9 as well and start seeing 3 cycle upgrades for top end phones

i think only 2 mojor updates is crap! as much as these phones cost and the technology in them these phones should get 3 or maybe 4 updates in my opinion!

From Experience ..
I own s8+,s9+Note 9,s10+
Have my note 2 ,note 4 both need battery which is replaceable but not messing with it
Not to mention own ever S line from s3 to now.
