Android randomly starts picking options on the screen. Hardware or Software problem?

Hi, I have had a new phone for less than a month (BQ Aquarius V with Nougat 7.1.2) but since one week ago, more or less, it started to act up. Basically, it will randomly start highlighting options in the screen and either clicking on them or not.

Examples:

. It almost always picks the leftmost app.

. If I move the shortcut, it goes to the next.

. But sometimes it will highlight the rightmost and open it.

. Also happens inside apps.

. Inside chrome, in this case it will pick the first suggestion and mess up my query.

. Same thing even if I switch the launcher from Nova to Google now.

It's really annoying when it happens because it starts clicking on things while I use the phone. I even tried taking a video, but when I did, the problem stop. You think is a hardware or software problem? I have both downgraded and upgrade the device and the problem persists.

It could be a virus, it could be some corrupt software or it could be a bad digitizer layer on the screen. It's not possible to troubleshoot that kind of problem without having the phone.
