Android Smart Lock still does not work

Android Smartlock has not worked for 2 years. I now have a Samsung S10+ running pie and Smart Lock still does not work. I found a work around a year ago, I have to go into "smart Lock in settings and move the pin slightly every day by 1 degree or so and save that and it will work for the rest of that day only. I also have 5 locations set for the area around my home but still, it does not stay unlocked for more than at most 48 hours. What is the problem?

Its seriously ridiculous that with the Pie update that this is still not fixed - you would think this is a trivial fix. Not sure how many complaints have to be filed in order for someone to step up and actually address this headache.
