There is seriously something wrong with the stock email client because ever android phone that I have had my yahoo email doesn't stay signed at all it just says I need to login all the time. But when I do put in my password it always says it wrong but if I restart phone it logins me in for a couple hours then logs me back out.

That may be something wrong with yahoo. All of my other email clients work perfectly with the exception of yahoo.

Sounds like yahoo wants you to download their yahoo mail app

That's what I'm thinking because all of mines work except yahoo and when I download the yahoo app and sign in I have no problem

Yahoo mail runs fine in my stock andriod email app on my Tab 3 8.0 tablet. I don't know what the problem is on you device, but I doubt that it is Yahoo trying to force you into using their Yahoo Mail App.

My yahoo account works perfectly on both Android devices I have - a MotoX phone and a Samsung Tab2 tablet. I have no idea if it's the standard Android mail app or a proprietary app of Motorola or Samsung. How would I tell?

By the way, I also have the Yahoo app on my tablet, but got used to the resident email app and therefore didn't bother changing. I couldn't see a huge advantage to the Yahoo - maybe there is, but I'm too lazy to actually comapre seriously.

Well I'm using the Samsung stock mail app and all it does is sign me in and our all day.

K-9 Mail work well too.
But there were reports of Yahoo having problems over the last few days.

Also yahoo iMap is quite nonstandard and problematic. You have to poll it, don't rely on their push.
