Android system battery drain (knox and Facebook)

Today my battery decided it wanted to drain really quickly. Down to 50% after half the day with hardly any use. So I get home and charge it to 100%. It's now at 90% and I've been using it. But the screen is not top of the usage. It's Android system, Facebook and Facebook messenger, which have not even been opened since I took it off charge. Also, knox had taken up 72mah of the 80mah that Android system had used. What's going on? I did a soft reset, deleted knox cache and all that.

Same exact situation from me. Never saw a battery drain so quickly. I posted this in another thread:

Facebook and Messenger took my phone from 100% to 15% in 3 hours. This just started today..100% CPU usage. I tried force stopping and rebooting with no affect. I uninstalled both Facebook and Messenger and things are starting to settle down. Apparently this is widespread based on Google searches.

Just sign out from Facebook every time you are done using it and it stops it from sucking down your battery.

I lost my temper with it in the end and did a full factory reset. Now it's alright. Made a point of installing less apps than before and have resorted to using metal pro (Facebook alternative) instead of Facebook. It includes messenger too.

Yep, it was a server side issue with Facebook. I also uninstalled Facebook and Messenger, I went with Swipe Pro.

Facebook need to get their stuff with their apps, this is getting ridiculous.

I choose not to use the Facebook app. Instead I access it by the URL and so save this in a bookmark and as a shortcut on my Homescreen.

Thank you! I uninstalled the facebook messanger app (didn't use the main facebook app, only in browser), and now I've been on 100% battery for an hour on the next charge. I was so frustrated after needing to charge after a shift at work where I barely used it.

Uninstall Facebook and Twitter and install Metal and log in to Facebook and Twitter through there. It will save battery.
