Brand new to Pixel. First few days I had stellar battery life, today not so much. "Android System" using almost as much battery as my screen is. Is this common? If so, anyway to mitigate? If not, what can I do to fix?

My guess is that it's doing a system update. Was it a temporary usage?

Potentially, but it didn't seem very temporary. I believe the large battery drain was over at least a 18 hour time period. I have since restarted the phone and it seems to have alleviated it.

So after stellar battery life for a couple days again "Android System" is once again eating through my battery life today. Will try restarting the phone again, but there has to be a good reason. Getting super annoying.

Android System is basically the entire phone. Your apps are probably updating, initially the phone might have downloaded the March 5 update.

Unfortunately neither of those things are happening. I'm always alerted when apps are updated and the March 5th update happened a few days ago.

I use a low power charger at night and last night my phone didn't really move off of where I started charging it at. It is using that much power constantly.

Next step would be a factory data reset. Before that though, try downloading GSAM Battery Monitor and then showing us some pictures of a normal days useage so we can see what's going on.

Thanks for the suggestion of that app. I've been monitoring things closely, but yet to have an instance again where it is eating through battery life. Once it does I will know what to compare it to. Thanks for the help guys!

well we normally don't have to do this, what your experiencing isn't really normal

The reddit would suggest otherwise. I believe most people that it affects just aren't realizing it. Its definitely a battery drain, but not an utterly horrible one. These phones have such great battery life that they will still get a lot of people through the day even with this battery drain, hence most people not realizing it. Obviously this is just conjecture though.

my phone is connected to wifi almost 24 hrs a day and my battery has been stellar. I'm at almost 4 hrs of screen on time right now and I'm just under 65%. this is ridiculous compared to my previous LG.

Do you have any Chromecast's or Google Home's on your wifi network?

Trying wifi for the first time in a while today. Never had any issues without it turned on. Did get the April update a few days ago, so maybe that fixed the problem. Will know after a few days of wifi back on.
