Is it possible to update From Kitkat 4.4.2 to lollipop safely .. cuz when I go to settings >> about device >> software update .. it says that I have the last version

If there is no software update available then you won't be able to install Lollipop - unless you root your device.

No root is safe, you will need to heavily research your device and how to root. You won't learn without practising though.
