Android Updates?!?!

Was thinking of getting rid of my Contract completely and going with Pre-paid. I was wondering if these Android phones get updates like the Contract ones. Triumph comes with 2.2 but wondering if possible 2.3 would maybe be there in the future. Anyone know how it works with these?

I have a Samsung Intercept and was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2 with VM.

I have a Samsung Intercept and was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2 with VM.

Sweet. Maybe 2.2 will get upgraded to 2.3 on this phone.

Updates seem to come with device popularity and priority. If the Triumph emerges as Virgin's flagship device and sells well, it will likely get updated to 2.3. Another factor is the manufacturer of the device. In the past, Moto's been ok, but nowhere near as good as HTC.
