Android upgrade for Samsung S3 I9300

Hello there,
I am in India. I bought this Samsung S3 phone from HongKong.

Model no: GT - I9300
Android version - 4.1.2
Baseband version - I9300XXELLA

As you look up above. My android version is 4.1.2 When will I get the update? :-[

The 4.3 update should be available in India, but it really depends on your carrier as to when it gets pushed.

You could try using the Kies software on your PC to update the firmware.

At worst, if you provide the carrier name and region, we can point you to the firmware that you can manually install.

Region - TamilNadu (Chennai)

When I check for updates manually from phone it says 'The latest updates have already been installed'. When I connected in Kies it is not asking for firmware update. Am I missing anything?

Try going into settings, apps, all apps, look for Google Framework Services and clear data. Then go back and check for update manually once again.
This has worked twice for me, on my wife's S3.

Hmm - I checked the normal source for manual updates http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-i9300 and both of the India region codes (INU; INS) still show 4.1.2 as the current version. Sorry.

It is POSSIBLE to load one of the 4.3 builds from a different region, but I don't know what that does to your language settings, etc. I'd just recommend that you wait for your carrier to make a build available. (Personally, I think you'll be much happier with 4.1.2 anyway.)

can any one explain why after upgrading to 4.3 i have a grey box in the top of my notification panel... wasnt there before the update , i have a s3 it masks other icons when i enable them ..

using CSC chnager apk from play store and changed your region. name of the program samsung galaxy s/s2/s3 csc by manniakk ıhad the same problem kies or phone update section say no update when I run the csc I saw my region AFR or something like that select the my region than kies and phone say there is a update

Now am not able to update or download any app from playstore Please help me.. I am getting the below exceptions.
While update - Error retrieving information from server. [RPC: S3]
While download a new app - Error retrieving information from server. [RPC: S-7:AEC-0]

Please help!!!! :'(

Have you rebooted the phone?

You may just want to remove your Google account from the phone and add it back.
