Android Users More Loyal Than Apple Users

Don't know the validity of that study, bit I suppose that may be because Android users are actually aware of the different OS and the caveats of each. Whereas apple users only get their devices after seeing Ashton Kutcher or Snooki with one.

Lol, as you can tell I have no idea why that may be true.

I remember a report coming out this past year saying that something like 40% of BlackBerry users would be switching to Android. Back then, it sounded crazy.

Once I started researching Android, I was hooked. Now that I actually have my SGS, and understand the differences between the two platforms, I can see the appeal for BlackBerry users wanting to have something better.

Plus, if you look at the Introductions forum, over half of the new entries are former BlackBerry users.

The point being that as outrageous as the BlackBerry numbers sounded, it might possibly be close to accurate. So, the iPhone theory might be true as well.

I dont know about this study. All i know is i will be sticking with Android myself for a long time for now. Unless something new comes out and blows my mind away, (i dont see that happening anytime soon outside of other android devices) I will be staying put.

I switched from a pre, I'm not going back to palm anytime soon. I just had one more user switch from a pre and onefrom a blackberry. They love there new phones. They both got android.

I do root for Android because it fulfills what I want out of a phone, but not everyone is like me. The iPhone hardware is pretty, it has a more robust app experience (Android is no slouch at all, but is behind), Apple has a lot of mindshare, and it is easier (read: feature-thin). So that stuff appeals to a lot of people. A large % of them have never used a decent Android device so they don't know what they are missing. Android appeals to people who like to optimize and customize their phone experience, beyond just pecking at apps. As long as they each keep improving, the customers win out.

The iPhone 2g, 3g and 3gs were pretty stagnant. iPhone users should be happy Android came along to burst that complacency.

Android users should be glad Jobs signed that exclusivity with ATT (and others). That gave Android breathing room to grow as an OS (especially in the US).

Now we have a fight on our hands. I just hope carriers and manufacturers (Moto, Samsung) don't spoil it.

I agreed with the above. I came from blackberry and I like to customize. I like control and options.

I have three things to say... (1) Android phones are awesome. (2) The OS is incredible. (3) The community is overwhelming.

And like must of us you are slightly biased. Me included...

As much as I'd like to believe it, I don't know how much I can buy into this claim. Apple (and iOS users in particular) are for the MOST part, not always but mostly, practically zombies.

I think it also has to do with the "newness" of Android. That and iOS SUCKS!

i like to customize my phone so there fore i will never leave android. besides google does more for me then anyone anymore.

I just love another AOSP vs iOS thread. Top of that when fans has no idea what AOSP or iOS is to begin with. Now keep in mind iOS is proprietary OS as they don't share source with vendors and their device is limited as they only maintain support for selected device and upgrades. On the other hand AOSP is based on open source ideal and maintains more than 100s of device.

Most thinks AOSP does not cost carrier any money which is false as its true that there is no licensing fee but to maintain it they do have to pay developers and tech supports, hardware/software research. I mean only reason Apple folks even converting due to we releasing crazy "superphone" with killer hardware spec's lol I mean come on now iPanzy 4 spec thats like so 2009 hardware.

I remember when I got HD2 months before it was officially in USA and then people had iPhone 3GS they wouldn't even take it out in front of me looking at the 4.3" screen as it was the first phone to have that with 1ghz. Apple just offer more consumer friendly system thats all whatever they want they can have. I honestly don't give a F about AOSP as I been using Unix/Linux long before Google even became what it became as I honestly believe WM has better control in terms of hacking then AOSP. Anyone who has any knowledge in computer programming can verify this with me. As virtually anything you wish you can change on it as it has no restrictions. Its funny as WM is proprietary yet the dev is so open its crazy. AOSP is young it has long way to go and Google is the only thing stopping it ATM thats all. I hope AOSP breaks from Google and go in its own way.

I agree completely

You really think you are saying something that people don't already know? You are not breaking some insane news here, most people on this board know the difference between the two. So stop stating the obvious to make yourself look smart. Fool.

Your special, you have been using Unix/Linux long before Google became what it is. Would you like a cookie? Again, are you trying impress somebody on here? Because for a person who "doesn't give a F about AOSP", you seem to be trying real hard to impress. I understand that you have an opinion, and you are entitled to it, but you can't say stuff like that, and expect not to get bashed.
