I’ve always used iPhone, and now 'gifted' an old Huwaei P30, vlog 29 android. I really like how it can do split screen or allow you to have video playing while doing something else. Totally dont understand why iPhones cannot do this. Love other features of android, like the voce aloud app, but there are two things that it must be able to do for total rejection of iPhone 1. Androids disallow screenshots to be taken of banking apps. iPhone easily does this. I tried downloading 3 different screen shot apps, but they don’t work either. Any idea how to screen shot? 2. An app that I regularly use is press reader, it reads back magazines and papers. iPhone reads it back without internet connection for downloaded articles. Android cannot. Android even with a internet connection, doesn’t continue to read the whole magazine, page after page, like iPhone. Anyone idea Why or how to get around this, perhaps with voice aloud? the software is 'up to date' 'current version 12.0.0.175.....'

Welcome to Android Central! I believe the screenshot restriction is baked into the app, so I don't think there's a way around it. It's up to the app developer, and in this case, it's obviously a security issue. It's actually a bit ironic that iPhones allow this, considering how security and privacy conscious Apple tries to be.

You should be able to use TalkBack (Android's screen reader accessibility feature) offline: https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/6283677?hl=en. Are you specifically asking about Press Reader? If so, you would need to contact that app's developer.

You tried to respond to me, but the forum software flagged it as possible spam, probably because you tried to include a link (which can raise automatic red flags, especially with new members).

This is what you sent me in a PM, and I'm pasting it here so we can continue the discussion:

"allow screen shots of banking apps? voice aloud on android does text to speech for me, its great how i can get it to read back websites or copy and paste; allowing me to stop rewind or ff and reading one article after another on my editable list. its the best free app for text to speech i know of.

with the press reader app, i guess will just have to contact the app developers, as it doesnt make sense to me how iphone can do it but not android, ie read out loud downloaded mags or papers without internet connection"

As I mentioned above, it is somewhat ironic that Apple touts its focus on security and privacy, and yet does allow screenshots of sensitive information like banking account info.

It's not clear to me if you're saying that TalkBack isn't working for you offline? I never use TalkBack, so I'm no expert with it.
