With all the bugs and complaints I keep hearing with every new version of Android Wear, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed they are getting worse battery life on the phone itself with the newer versions on AW?

Actually my watch seems ok with battery life, but for some reason the last few days I happen to notice my phone is discharging more quickly now, and there was another recent update to AW.

It might be a coincidence, but I think it might be cause battery drain on the phone.

A friend complains about the same.
I don't have a Note 5, but my Galaxy S6 Edge discharges a lot faster when I use it with my Galaxy Gear.

I haven't noticed any battery drain more than usual on my Nexus 5x and a Asus ZenWatch 1. That said, I estimate that AW takes about 15% of my phone's battery life, however this is the usual toll it takes regularly.

For example. I charged my phone last night before bed, and turned the phone off. So when I woke up it was still fully charged.

I was at work all day with my Moto 360 2nd gen connected with light usage on the phone. By the time I left work at 6:45 I was at 49% battery on the phone.

That seems like terrible battery life for hardly using the phone today and I just noticed it the last few days.

Well after spending time investigating this, I am now believing that it's just that the Note 5's battery just stinks. So I doubt it is the watch now.

Have you checked your battery usage in the phone's settings? This may give you a clue as to what is using up your battery.

Well I think I figured out the problem.

There seems to be a software glitch regarding WiFi on the Note 5 regarding idling time.

If I keep WiFi OFF, the idle drain is back to normal. If I have WiFi ON and just sitting idle, the phone drains much faster.

Glad to hear you got it figured out!

Perhaps contact Samsung support on this issue or Google around if others also have this problem.

Interesting.. I leave WiFi on always.. Connected at binder but not at work... Still have excellent battery life on my note 5
