Android Wear lock screen issue

I hope someone can help me with this.

I'm loving my Huawei P8 and haven't had any issues up until now. I recently purchased a Asus Zenwatch.

the watch works fine if I leave my phone screen open. I can go into the Android Wear app and select to push notifications from the android wear watch and Zen Phone manager and it works a treat. Then when I lock my phone screen it stops, I have to go back into the app and select to push notifications again.

I think I have tried everything. I have checked under protected apps to make sure the Zenwatch manager and Android wear are set to run after closing the screen, which they are.

I have factory reset the watch a number a times and reconnected. Uninstalled and reinstalled the Android wear app etc. but it still does the same.

Has anyone else had this problem? Right now the watch is useless with this phone and I don't think it's the watches problem but the way the Huawei P8 handles push notifications.

Do you have the Screen saver to save power on under Power saving, scroll down the under part of the screen. If this is active all apps will be stopped as the screen is shut down.

I have had a look in the power saving options but I cannot find anything relating to a screensaver. Am I in the right place?

Have you swiped up from the bottom part of the screen to se the whole page?

First I click into settings:

I then swipe up:



This is all I see, I can't see any options for screensaver. Maybe I'm just being stupid.

That was strange! Mine looks like this (I have firmware B132 and Before that B110 and it looked the same):


The one with the slider says "Screen saver to save Power" (Swedish version of P8).
What is your firmware version? It is in the last entry of the settings.

Thanks again. Glad I wasn't being stupid. I'm pretty sure there is nothing set preventing all apps from running in the background. I still get my email notifications on my phone and whatsapp with the screen locked. The problem appears to be the Android Wear app.

I have sent an email directly to Huawei about this and will see what they have to say. I'm sure others must be having the same problem, and with them releasing their Huawei Watch in the near future which is based on android wear I'm hopeful they will fix it.

OK, would be nice if you came back here when you find a solution! Not to be to conspiratorial, but Huawei is about to release a watch of their own ( www digitaltrends com\wearables\huawei-watch-news : replace spaces with dots and backslash with slash. I'm not alowed to post links yet!)
They seem to have some problems…. Don’t know if this has anything to do with your problem.

It looks like it's a known issue with lollipop 5.0 on the P8. I have just read an article regarding the Ascend Mate 7 running 5.1 and it mentions issues with lollipop 5.0 on the P8.
