Android Wear will not clear default application

[AC Question]

I want to use Google Fit to show me my heart rate,my steps, start a run or start a workout on My Moto360 smartwatch. I am trying to use the Android Wear app to do that but it will not give me Google Fit as an option. If I long press on the action I want to change I only get Moto body as an option in the dialog box that opens ( which I don't even have installed). I can select " Browse Apps" which redirects me to Google Play. I have tried selecting and tapping on Google Fit from within the Play Store, but nothing changes.
