its a setting in your developer options that u can increase or decrease if u lower it, say to .5x or 0 the transition animation u see when u switch from ur home screen to your app drawer is gone, making the phone feel snappier, and quicker when u go from ur settings window or open an app...if u say u changed it and didn't notice anything, that is possible but not likely if u did it correctly...but then again some people can't see the difference between HD television vs standard definition so who knows
