Annotating Excel or PDF file

So I have the Note 10.1 Tablet. How can I open an Excel file and annotate with they stylus directly on that file? Is there any way? Do I have to save it as a .pdf and open it in S-note? I'd like to do it a little more freely if possible.

Any thoughts?

Open it in Polaris Office, which deals with Excel & if you're running JB 4.1.2 you can scribble all over it! Alternatively, screenshot it with S. Pen & draw away.

?? How? I have 4.1.2 and my stylus won't write on Excel docs opened in P. O. This would be a good trick if you can explain how to do it? (Screen shot is good alternative but doesn't satisfy my curiosity).

Agree. I'm on 4.1.2 as well and have opened in Poloaris, but no option to use the stylus to free-form. It's just used as a selection tool.

Sorry guys, thousand apologies - I was getting confused with the PDF thing mixed up with what someone else had directed me to in Polaris. You're right it doesn't work the way you need it to. Sorry again, back to drawing board I guess; I'm sure there's a solution out there somewhere & well continue to apply my mind to it.
