Hi,

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1.

I put together some apps in one folder. Lets use as an example the Games Folder, and inside it, for example a Solitaire App.

Everytime I press the Solitaire App and then play for a while, when I go back because I finished playing, the folder is open, and the keyboard is out.

Suppose that after playing I want to go to a totally different app from another folder, I have to go though the process of putting the keyboard back down, then pressing anywhere in the home screen to close the games folder, and only then start looking for another app.

Is there a way to have the keyboard down automatically without having to go through all the steps?

The same that happens with the folders, happens in some other cases but for the sake of the explanation, I use only one case...

Help?

Thanks,

Julio

I have had the same issue. I lined the bottom of my homescreen with all folders for "School", "Work", "Church", "Tools", etc.... and EVERY TIME I go to the home screen from one of those folders, I have this happen. It's not a massive problem, but it is my number one pet peeve with this tablet. Other than that, I LOVE this thing. So it would sure be nice to get that to stop. The keyboard should only appear if I have clicked in the title section of the folder to edit it.

I'm having the same problem. I don't even know how to do the complicated steps to make the keyboard disappear. I use a bluetooth keyboard. I never want to see the damn Samsung keyboard. How do I kill it easily? I love this tab but I hate it when my tech is smarter than I am.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. I have folders on my home screen as well. I haven't come up with a solution Except for bringing the keyboard down which really isn't a solution

Mine was doing the same thing but an update fixed the problem for me. Check to see if you can update the OS.

I heard the pulled the update because some people were reporting loss of spen usage.

When using your BT keyboard, there's an app called Null Keyboard to keep the device keyboard from popping up since you're using a physical keyboard. When I first got my keyboard, I thought the on screen keyboard was popping up too much so I downloaded it but haven't tried it. I realized it was only in a few cases the screen keyboard came up so it didn't annoy me enough to go through setting up the null keyboard. You might want to give it a shot if you're using the BT keyboard all the time.

Just FYI, I bought the Nova Prime Launcher (for 25 cents in the Play store sale this week) and switched to that. It does not have this problem with the keyboard popping up after going into an app that is in a folder.

And, Nova had an option to import my desktop settings from TouchWiz, so I didn't have to recreate all my pages of icons.

The update that was pulled a few weeks ago fixed the keyboard pop-up bug (at least when not using a BT keyboard). Today's update appears to be a revised version of that update, which also fixes it, I'm pretty positive (I've been using mine all day, and I had the pulled update with the fix, and I've seen no changes to the fix of that particular bug since installing today's update).

So, basically, this seems to have been a bug that hopefully has been fixed -- at least when you aren't also using a bluetooth keyboard. ;)
