Annoying phone icon

Love my s4,but annoyed that the green phone icon shows a number representing missed calls...

The only way to clear this seems to be to enter the phone and then click recent.... Am I wrong?

Can this be disabled?

Check the setting in the pull down menu of the screens notification area

Huh? Has nothing to do with the pull down... It's the little number on the icon

thats what almost every phone does. shows a number of missed calls. even the iphone does it. i dont think it can be disabled

I have this issue too. I missed call and they left a voicemail. I listened to and deleted the message, but the phone app icon still has the number 1 showing.

Kind of annoying.
