Annoying split screen with October 2020 update

[Android Central Question]

Updates my S10+ on Oct 29 2020. Ever since, the phone automatically opens up my apps on split screen mode when i try to use more than one at once. For example while using my banking app i try to open the calculator and bam split screen. Its annoying because i get logged out of my banking app. But the same will happen when i use any two apps combined. My gf using the same phone with exact same update does not have this issue.
Contacted samsung support and was ultimately told that this is a feature of the latest update and that i can't turn it off.
My question i guess is "can i turn off split screen"?

Welp, there used to be a setting to turn multi window on/off. I don't see it anywhere on my S10. I understand it's annoying especially when I just want to switch apps, and loses my place on the web page.

You using any 3rd party launcher or Good lock app?
If not clear cache in recovery.

Can you describe what you're doing?

For me, this comes from the edge panel. The latest update added split screen view when initiating an app from the edge panel. You can't turn off split screen view but you can change the option within the apps setting to Touch and Hold instead of Tap.
