Annoying text message issue

Will do my best to explain this. I'm using the stock Samsung text messaging app. I send a text and whenever the recipient responds I'm taken to the top of the thread vs our most recent messages. As a result I have to scroll down to check the response. Real pain if it's a long ongoing conversation. I don't want to use a 3rd party messaging app but was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if there's a setting I've overlooked?

Its actually harder than it appears. I make it look easy.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work for me. I've used the Verizon text messaging app and didn't have this issue. I don't like duplicate apps which is why I'd like to solve this minor annoyance and stick with the stock messaging app.

Not alone, have had this too. Quickest fix I find is to back out to contacts/conversations list and retouch the name of the one you want to message with. Works for me, but certainly agree it's annoying. Also, does not happen all the time for me. I tried Verizon app (wife has a Galaxy S5 and loves the Verizon messaging), I didn't care for it.

Went back to the Verizon message app and set it as default. Having to scroll down constantly was too much of an annoyance

I know you said you don't like duplicate apps but chompSMS has a small footprint and never had a single glitch with it.

I'll give it a shot and see. Thanks
