Annoying white background in Samsung S6 Gallery app

Hi,
Recently bought a new Samsung S6, and in the stock Gallery app, when you view a picture, the background is glaring white.
It hurts my eyes.
I was able to get rid of the white in the menus by downloading a dark theme, but the white in the gallery app still comes back when viewing a picture with the tool bar visible.

Any idea how to get rid of that disturbing white background?
