Ugh, I do not like this rumor!

I'm hoping it's one of those leaks that gets plugged. I love the ease of popping the sim into another phone and continue with my day. I know zilch about esim. Is it a matter of going online to switch phones? Yeah, lemme ask Gemini or somebody

Yeah, physical SIM swaps are so quick and easy. From some quick online research, it seems eSIM switches may not be so seamless

Ive seen it's simple and also not so simple. Some say call in, others say go thru your carrier app. I'm switching from AT&T to T-Mobile in the next week or so, so I need to figure it out before go time in case the leak is correct.

I'm currently with T-Mobile ... I have to take my son there later this evening to get him a new a phone so I may ask the rep what the process is. Us phone hoppers need to know!

No, quite the opposite. Sadly, he's an iPhone user and could care less about anything tech related ... As long as he can get it to do what he wants he's happy LOL

I'll probably be sticking with my 8 Pro for another year.

I have the 8 pro as well. It will be interesting to see what the trade-in values are for the phone

Well, the trade-in values are pretty bad this year, so I'll be sticking with my 9 Pro XL.

Finally the trade ins were about as good as they have ever been here in the UK. £650 for my 9 Pro.

UK. £672 or something for 9 Pro XL. It's probably not helped because last year the base price was £100 lower (I think) but there was a free upgrade to 256 GB storage. This year, I think it starts at 256 GB but they didn't lower the base price to last year's base price.

The £20 email newsletter "incentive" is a bit of a joke too.

I'll keep an eye on Google Play offers like the good one that cropped up last Autumn, but for now, it's a no for me.

Relatively about the best it's been in the UK.
As a small phoneist it will do until we see what the S26 "pro' and Xiaomi 16 bring.

Yeah, it looks like a better deal on the regular 9 Pro. The XL isn't quite so good and is a £500+ upgrade. I'm not going back to a smaller phone after my year with the Pixel 5!
