Another GB leak (9/21/11)

So far I don't see much difference from the 2.11 GB leak from a month or so ago. Data seems a bit more stable though. Kind of hard to tell after only a couple hours. Really not sure what they changed honestly.

Why is it custom ROMs never come with release notes?

I was lucky to get replacement Tbolt after I put the month old 2.11 leak on my last Tbolt with the camera and Gtalk timebomb before I sent my last Tbolt back to VZW I booted it up with out SIM and SD card and the camera and Gtalk worked fine heads up for people with this problem try re formating ur SD card back it up first

1. The only difference between this and 2.11.605.0 are the camera libs are updated to not expire.
2. Google Talk and FFC issues are still present.
3. This is not the OTA.

Your phone cannot read date without SIM for network access.

Hence, no camera issue.

Cause=effect, but no solution.

I would say to people who's phones still work right running froyo, to stay put, and wait it out a little longer from the reviews of this ruu so far...

I downloaded it and flashed it last night, things I noticed: The voice mail notification is still not working, the new android market is working as opposed to the other 2.11 leak, hulu+ and cbs sports pro football apps are available to install again (I don't know if this had to do with having to use the old market but for some reason with the other 2.11 leak i could not install these applications, but when I flashed this 2.11 and got the new market update I could download and install them). Battery life seems to be a bit better, but I haven't put it through the paces yet. This is just some of the things I have seen in the brief time I have been running this.

Also I forgot to try and just reboot the phone to see if gtalk and the camera app crashes when reboot was complete. I know in the last 2.11 fix the work around that worked for me is that if they didnt work was to power off the phone and pull the battery out, wait about 30 seconds and then put the battery back in and boot up the phone.

I flashed late yesterday from the previous 2.11. Camera issue is fixed , I can now install the bbt banking app, that I could not find in the market on the previous version. One thing that is an issue, I cannot connect to my wireless network at home, it is hidden and uses wpa psk, so I have to add it manually. Otherwise nothing that I can see that is very different.

That is the purpose for the hiding network option, if you dont know the information required for the network you cant log in until you manually set it up.... This is normal..

I've used it and didn't care for it. Transcriptions were highly inaccurate, notifications were slow, and I can't access my gmail account from my work machine. VZW VM just plain works. Now if I could get the notifications to work properly...

I had it on my original Moto Droid and loved it. I got it on my TBolt and then it went away...I just got it back a couple of weeks ago (don't know if it was USER error or Google). I prefer it so much better than VZW VM, because unless I recognize the phone, I don't pick it up. After they leave a message, I log into my GM AIL and voila....it is there. Yes, the transcriptions are not accurate at all, but most of the time I can get the jist of the message, but, I will listen to the message from my computer.

If it is a real important message from the kids/girlfriend/mom & dad I can download it on the phone and save it for posterity.

When I used VZW VM, I always forgot to listen to my VM's and had friends mad at me....LOLOL.

I guess I didnt explain properly, I understand when you hide the SSID, you have to setup wireless connections manually. What I was trying to say is, I normally have my SSID hidden and setup manually on my TBolt and it has always connected without fail. With the latest 2.11.605.2 RUU, I cannot connect to my wireless even though it is setup manually with the correct SSID and password. When I change the settings in my router to allow it to broadcast the SSID, it will connect.

Okay, I've been running this for almost a day now. The talk/camera force close issue seems to be solved. My gps is ultra fast and almost instant compared to the last ruu. Also, apps which weren't recognized before on the old 2.11 are now able to be loaded. For example on the old 2.11 I couldn't load MLB at bat 2011 or astro pro paid version. On the new 2.11 they all load. Battery life seems the same. I use Google voice for my voice mail, and I just don't understand why others don't, especially if you are a business user. Its one of my most used and most useful apps, so I don't know about the voicemail notification issue. New 2.11 is extremely fast and I don't have connection issues transitioning from 3g to 4g. Haven't used Bluetooth yet on it. Wifi works fine. LTE download speed is above average 12-15 mb/sec, in my area, I know its the same radioes as the original 2.11 so I expected them to be the same, which they are. Also my market updated itself quickly and automaticly.

Hope this helps everyone.

Dunno about XDA, that place has just been a cesspool of bickering lately; no one is concentrating on the latest news and instead just fighting with everyone else. Haven't seen many people try to install this though...

This type of thing doesn't really set the stage for a community that should all get along.

Sorry - I came here to read up on this update, not to thread crap :p

The "Dialer" is still using a ton of battery. After 13 hours unplugged its using 55% of my battery right now. Granted its been on standby most of that time but still, no idea why the dialer keeps using so much battery.

Just flashed this to my Bolt, extremely fast boot time to Thunderbolt screen, and as always it stalls for a minute there, but moved on faster than other builds.. The 4G in my area (Bowling Green/Toledo/Sylvania) has been MUCH faster and more reliable than on 2.2.1. I don't really use voicemail too much, so the vm bug never got to me (by now people know that I don't check my vm too often, if they need to get ahold of me right away they know to email or text).

Market updated quickly, and the phone feels pretty fast compared to the most previous 2.11 update. Data speeds down in BG are only about 4mb down and 2mb up, but I'm also testing from the inside of my apartment which thinks its made of iron or something :p

Not too shabby all in all..I must say that I am glad I threw this one on there.

Oh and the camera works without having to revert the date EVERY time I reboot. :D

If I update to the GB leak will I lose my ability to do the OTA update when Verizon and HTC finally release it?
