If I update to the GB leak will I lose my ability to do the OTA update when Verizon and HTC finally release it?
Considering this will not be the OTA:
Yes.

You will be able to manually install it the same way you would install this leak.
So after that I will be getting back on track for OTA updates?
That's what I've been told. I've been flashing the updates manually though so I haven't waited long enough to find out.
I'm glad I took my chances on this build, this is by far the best GB leak for the Thunderbolt. 4G speeds have averaged 9mb down and 3mb up over 75 speed tests. Quick GPS lock, phone is very responsive ( not laggy, and I have over 35 apps downloaded, most still on phone memory) and overall just a great GB build.
Want me to ruin it for you?
Open front facing camera.

Not if you are stock it isn't.
Like I said, test Google Talk. The camera libs are screwed up.
what's Google talk and why do I need it?
