I've seen varied experiences between several sprint stores.
I've also had at least one guy who pissed my wife off pretty badly over the Optimus vs Hero thing... (she wanted to see/work with an Optimus, and they were trying to sell her a Hero)
To add the what Matt just said, not only is he a Sprint employee, he's a damn fine one. Matt went way above and beyond for me one time when my launch day EVO broke
