Just noticed another new update for the AOD last night and was wondering what's new with this update?
Anyone know?

I checked on the Galaxy App Store. So this is the second update for AOD.

v1.3.07
Added AOD time range settings. Max 24hrs
Changed time range of Night Clock from max 24hrs to max 18hrs.
Change title of Dual Clock. Now called World Clock. Now supports up to 4 cities (1 local, 3 custom).
Some bugs fixed.

What I want to see on the list really are:
1.) brightness control. I want it to be always dim. And this will also be good for those who want it bright.
2.) third party support.

I've had it turned off since day 1, it's basically useless without third party support

I wouldn't say it's useless. It tells me the time and if I have any missed calls or texts that's a majority of what I would normally turn my screen on for. It could certainly be improved, I'm not arguing that. Just depends what you're wanting it for I guess.

I'm a former moto display user from the og moto x days, their version worked with basically everything, that's why I find the Samsung implementation lacking

I can definitely understand that. Like I said, there's definitely room for improvement.

Same reason I have yet to use the AoD - I've been using AcDisplay from the play store and find it much more satisfying.

But AC Display isn't always on right? And you still have to swipe it out?

Correct, it is not always on. It acts more like Moto Display, but it does not do the 'wave to wake' feature that you could do on a Moto. Basically, it fires up the minimal screen when you get a notification and you can read it from there and choose to either turn on the phone, dismiss the notification, or do nothing.

Not sure what you mean by swipe it out though.

AOD will now allow you to set the time frame you want it to appear on your screen. I've been waiting for this!

Still lack of third party app support killing this for me. I get most of my notifications from Google Messenger, Gmail and WhatsApp...

Thanks for this, as I wanted to see what was in the update (it automatically updated), but for some strange reason, the app didn't appear in my Samsung app store so that I could check out the update info.!

Also being a previous MotoX use I agree the always on display on the S7 isn't as good but certainly better than nothing and I love having it! I have the wireless charger on my nightstand and it is perfect brightness for a clock by my bed.
