Another Nexus?

If Samsung can improve or enhance the product, rather than allow it to become more obsolete, and less competitive, more quickly, I'm all for it. More sales will engender more development and ongoing support, which should be a positive for current and future owners. When we buy a high tech product, we have to understand that advancements are highly accelerated, and whatever we buy is becoming obsolete from the minute it is released. The alternative would be to freeze progress, for the sake of not wanting to upset current owners. I really don't like that alternative, but I'm in the position of not having purchased my GN yet, which may make me a bit biased on this subject, especially as it applies here. While they are at it, I hope they find a way to jam in a 3800mah slimline battery.

Stop whining. You bought you're phone for what it is, not for what won't be coming out.
That's absolutely stupid to say you bought X because it's going to be the coolest thing until Y comes out a year from now.

Sure I'm disappointed if this turns out to be true. But if it really bothers you then sell your phone now and shut it.

If this is real (and I don't think it is), I would be annoyed, but that's it. I wouldn't be angry, and it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I was thinking what they did to their VZW customers. Iphone 4 and 4s came out the same year.

That was VZW, not Apple in my opinion. Anyone who knows about Apple should have known they release a new phone once a year and that VZW was getting it several months before the release of the next model.

IMHO this is simply an internal hardware update. I would be surprised if there's any significant REAL WORLD benefit.

So the CPU is 20% faster and the GPU is 250% faster (single,%, core). Will that make Angry Birds any better or the browser load in a tenth of the time?

I'll wait to see what the 2012 Nexus brings before even thinking about upgrading.

I would be pissed if anything to do with Android followed Apple as a model.

Thank you. I thought I was going crazy there for a minute, thinking that people on an Android forum actually go with Android expecting only one Android phone to be released each year.

If they were calling it something else, it's not a big deal. They are still calling it the galaxy nexus, which is what some people seem to be irritated about. They aren't calling it the nexus+ or nexus 2 as far as I know. With the GSII lineup, they all had different names and specs, based on the carrier. Also, Apple updated the iphone every year, but they also changed the name.

Seems to me that we really don't know whether the report is legit, and if it is, what Samsung will officially call it when they release it. Looking back at the rumored names for the Galaxy Nexus prior to its announcement that turned out to be bogus, I think it's a leap to conclude that they will be calling it the Galaxy Nexus. Even if that turned out to be true, what real difference would the name make to current GN owners? If I owned one, I would be disappointed that I don't have the shiniest new version, but the name thing would be the least of my worries.

At what point do you think it becomes too much for one manufacturer to introduce new phones?

Its fake, Goog isn't going to throw away the new nexus like that.
It could be the GSIII and someone labeled it as GN to throw the hounds off the trail tho.

I was thinking the same thing, a GSIII set up for ICS, easy to see how this could get mixed up.

IIRC Google/Samsung originally wanted the 4470/544 but TI wasn't able to make the timeline.

Except for the 99.999% chance that the GSIII will have an exynos processor

And speaking of the GSIII, I was hoping that Samsung would make an announcement about it at MWC but I guess it wont make an appearance instead, according to this link :'(
