Another Note 10.1 Review-Check It Out!!!

Did I ever say I agreed with the reviews? No.

What I said was that some of you were dismissing negative reviews simply because they were negative. The note is peculiar and a niche product. Personally, the note would not do anything better for me that I can't already do with an iPad, and wouldn't be worth the trade-offs.

I dismiss the negative reviews that are mostly subjective. I read one review trashing it [the Note] because every time you touched the screen it make the water drop noise. Simply turn it off. Why even mention that in a review? It's similar to haptic feedback; I hate it. But it seems to be on by default with every new device I get. Does that make it a horrible device? Of course not. Or how about "oh, there is so much thin plastic". Give me a break, reviewers can't come up with something original?

I'll gladly read and watch review that actually review the product itself and it's features.

It's like you said in what I bolded above: it all comes down to personal taste. But like @LegalAmerican said (and I'm paraphrasing), don't come to this forum and talk trash about it. It's like going to the iMore forums and talking about how great Android is. It just causes unneeded drama, so why do it? Go talk about it in the iPad forum and I'm sure you'll receive a much warmer reception ;)

You are starting to be a PITA on this particular topic. Everytime I come across one of your posts, it is negative and trying to start something. If you don't like the Note, then that's fine. But you don't have to try to bring down the excitement of those who are happy with it. Simply state your issues with it, and allow others to either agree or disagree. Feel free to build your case, but you can't just break everyone else's down without ever providing insight as to SPECIFICALLY why you might disagree. That isn't how it works.

There are always "those" kind of people on forums. I remember on the CrackBerry forums (yes, I was a BlackBerry addict for a while) there were 10 or 12 like that. Some even had multiple accounts and logged in as a different user just to spread propaganda about RIM. It was ridiculous.

I think some people just do it for attention. The anonymity of the whole thing is too tempting for them to just let things go, so they stir up trouble to keep it going. Or they just don't know any better.

The Note 10.1 is a niche product but, at the same time, has a great many features that should appeal to all interested in a high-end, high-performance tablet.

IMO, some of these "professional" bloggers/sheep/fanboys come to their reviews not with the objectivity to evaluate a product but to appeal the rest of herd who already believe as they do.

They harp on the fact that the case is plastic and not brushed aluminum. They say that the Note 10.1 appeal to graphic artists. I remember the same claims about the Mac versus the business oriented business Windows PC. With some of the biased reviews, it is style over substance. The Note 10.1, to them, is not appealing because it is does not have a retina display. If both tablets have HD resolution excluding the level of color saturation, does it really matter to the human eye in the context of overall performance and function? The level of screen digitization and functionality are more than a fair trade for resolution when it is already HD. The Note 10.1 screen resolution and functionality can only get better with the next generation.

Let's focus on things that the Note 10.1 does better than the iPad or its other Android brethren.

1) Smart Stay - A GS3 feature that is overlooked by these "objective" reviewers.
2) Expandable Storage - is an advantage over the unibody iPad and even its brethren for which you have to buy accessories with extra batteries and storage capacity. A 64 GB micro SD card is a lot cheaper.
3) S Pen- is more than a stylus and is an active digitizer. No tablets has it. It acts like a cursor allowing for more precise navigation whether in the browser or in a app or module.
4) Multi-tasking - split screen, popup videos, and widget trays.Productivity is far greater than other tablets.

These feature will only get better with the next generation Note 10.1 tablet.

It's a peculiar product? How do you figure? It's an Android tablet that does what they all do but also includes a pen.

Why are you even posting in this section? You add no value to the people who come here, and obviously don't care to learn anything about it. Do you find it a fun place to troll and argue?

I am so sick of pompous Apple disciples who just want attention. Obviously they fear how dominant Android is, or they wouldn't invest so much time trolling our forums.

I'm okay with someone sharing their opinion, even if its different then mine. But to go from topic to topic just spreading negative crap gets old. Some people just do not have the decency to leave others alone.

Makes you wonder if the ipad had a plastic back, would reviewers give it a 2 out of 10, or a do not buy review. I believe not. I mean, if that were the case would the iphone 3 and 3gs with their all plastic backs have been such a big hit.

The original tab 10.1 had a plastic back, as well as the tab 2, and they both received fair reviews, like a 6 or 7 out 10.

I had an original tab 10.1 and it was okay at first, but honeycomb was the achilles tendon for the tab. When the recent release of ICS was installed on the tablet, it felt brand new, and seemed to have a purpose.

Alas, i had to sell it.............so i could get the new Note tablet, woo hoo! ICS, 1.4 ghz quad core cpu, 2 gb ram, s pen, sd card slot etc etc. I am in heaven. This was the tablet i wanted over a year ago, but couldn't get.

But why does it only rate a 2 of 10 or less than one star? Because someone that rated the tab 2 a 6 or 7 has yet to crawl out from under tim cook's desk, wipe his mouth and grow a pair to become unbiased when it comes to the ipad 3 versus any other tablet.

This is to all of you that purchased the jote 10.1 based solely on need of features, not on what everyone else thinks you should have, right ifans.

Sorry for the rant.

Actually, several other tablets have had this for nearly a year. The Lenovo Thinkpad Touch, the HTC Jetstream, and the HTC Flyer all have digitizing styluses.

Take it easy dude. If you are on a Ford forum and someone trashes a new F-150 review, you'll get the same response. It's just an Internet forum.

The people that own a Note don't agree with any of the trash some reviewers are banging out on their keyboard. Ever hear of the phrase "straight from the horses mouth"?

And no, three is nothing wrong with calling a product crap, but at least call a spade a spade. It's an Samsung Android tablet, right? Shouldn't all the reviews then be calling all Android Samsung tablets crap? They are all the same. And it is unprofessional when you can't give an unbiased, mature review. You really think any of the bloggers are professional?

I think you are the one living in an interesting world; one of you own.

No they all are not the same.. Isn't why they are upgraded? Anyway I appreciate the comments

True. The Note 10.1 also has an IR blaster. With the iPad, you have to buy another peripheral. The Note has the ability to have gaming controllers and other peripherals as well as file transfer versus external storage.

A good example of how a comparison review should be done. It's objective; pointing out both the good and bad in both products. No trash talk, very professional and actually helpful to someone deciding which tablet to buy.

Other reviewers should take "Note" of this video as a lesson on how to give a proper review.

I agree with you 100%. Lisa did an excellent job. She maintains a professional and clearly objective approach to her reviews.

Anyone interested in a tablet should watch this review. It not only objectively shows the differences between the Note 10.1 & the iPad 3, but it also involves some really good understanding of some of the pros & cons of the IOS and Android operating systems when using a tablet.

Sorry to any iPad or Apple fans, but when i'm sitting in my class taking notes on my Note 10.1 and it is registering the input of the S-pen FLAWLESSLY and is comfortable, efficient, and easy to pack up at the end of class............that kicks the iPad's trash in my world. And to be honest, it's my money that gets spent, so my world is the only thing that counts when I make a decision.

I don't care if Android Police doesn't like it because it isn't made of cast iron with a retina display, I don't care if I can't oil it up, put it by the fire, and cook peach cobbler in it. I don't need a dutch oven, I need a note taking tablet that helps me in school. I also don't need a retina display eating up my battery and making the tablet run hot. This thing is PERFECT for ME. Thank you Samsung, and thank you my fellow Note 10.1 early adopters.
