Was talking to an ATT tech today about the problem and he suggested before I try a replacement to check the "force GPU rendering" box in developer options. It's been about 20 minutes but so far an improvement!

Wow, turned mine on. Phone feels a lot snappier then it did. No lag at all.

It helps, but it also buggers a few apps. If you notice any apps crashing or hanging that didn't before, that's probably why.
