I know there are countless ROM recommend posts. I'm looking for everyone's opinion too.

I've tried just about every ROM. Here have been my results:

Liquid smooth - GPS works, smooth, fast. But there are no free themes and I don't like adw themes enough. It has randomly rebooted on me too. Can't get handsent to work well.

Cm7 - great ROM but I can't get GPS to work right. Has me in Europe. All else is good.

Thunderstick - killed my radios, added EvDo to cdma/Lte. Wont ever use.

Vicious -ics or gb both have no mms. Otherwise smooth and stable.
Thundershed - cm7 themed, but didn't like.

Bamf - great, but laggy all the time. Too much sense programming. Battery hog

Ikream - liked, but a battery hog and too much sense stuff.

As you can see, ice tested a bunch. I'm trying not to be a flash a Holic.

What's the best ROM and configuration? Aosp ROMs are great for battery life, I'm curious on what the consensus is? Stability, speed and battery life is what I'm looking for...

Thanks in advance.

I'm on bamf forever 1.10, love the cyan hot theme.
Zigg kernel.
I carry a spare battery for juice issues.

Didn't work. I ran the update while using cm7. My phone thinks I'm in new Salem, IL or Libreville Gabon. A reboot or a GPS fix works, but only temporary.

Thunderstick comes bundled with imoseyons Mr4 kernel now. There are no radio issues any more.

You can replace the evdo/LTE icons with a nice mod I can link if that bothers you.

It's not even close though. Thunderstick is best in class.

Shed is nice too if you want something different.

Did u make sure you mounted the system first.

Yes. I mounted the system before I ran the update. I did the thunderstick update back in early March, which is when that happened. Was there an upgrade since? I not sure i want to go back to it since it messed me up. I also did not like thundershed for some reason. Will this be an issue when ics is released?

Btw, I don't have any GPS issues inside a building or in dolphin using liquid smooth. Is this just a setting then, maybe?

First im on board with you. I have tested nearly everything. I wont test rom with Sense at all. Even Desense. Its just a waste of my time. I did however try Eternity desense recently "sense" (heh see what i did there?) it was so popular. 10k views and such is hard to overlook. I still hated it first 60 seconds.

I dont like screwing with my builds much if i can find one i like so here is my experience. I recently installed liquid smooth. And i was going to go back to my old CM7/AOSP build but i found that it has ADW / Launcher Pro (which there is a crack out there somewhere for the full version, i have it, pm me if you want it) and 1 other i beleive. I was shocked when i found it. Alot of stuff in Liquid settings and if you tried LSG and didnt see it im going to say you didnt try it long enough. In addition - if you want a great theme (the only REALLY GOOD ONE) ive found is Epicblue n bold or green n bold. It will tell you it doesnt match everything blah blah but its very nice. It gives mods to everything.

Another suggestion for LSG (Liquid smooth gingerbread) is ROM Toolbox. The nice thing about this program that you dont find in alot of tweak utilities is its mainly all sliders. You dont have to click, change setting, accept.

With this rom, and the multiple settings of ROM Tool box including the profiles which can be set to lower your CPU during screen off / in call etc and increase your CPU when plugged is outstanding. I believe its a little buggy still but i cant complain with the last 12 hours of my phone being on with no use and only moving 6%.

Old but similar to LSG thats based on MR3 radio
[ROM]SHIFTAO5P IC3.2.1 [IMOSEYON Lean Kernel 5.1] (11/20/2011) - xda-developers

So if you want to try my setup here it is all based on the MR4 radio:

LSG:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...-liquid-smooth-roms-3-2-multiple-devices.html

Imoseyon v6.1 AOSP:
[Kernel] [Aosp] Leankernel: Minimalistic Kernel (V6.1.0, 2/19/12) - Thunderbolt Development - RootzWiki

MR4 Radio:
[MR4-ROM/MR4-KERNEL/MR4-MODS/THEMES/MR4-RADIO LIST] - Thunderbolt Development - RootzWiki

ROM Toolbox (LITE) only a very few items not available in LITE:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e....toolbox&feature=search_result&token=SH7p8TCW.

Very very nice theme, just remember when installed to just accept, everything works:
Blue:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...y50aGVtZS5FcGljQmx1ZU5Cb2xkIl0&token=7ptTO0TK.
Green:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...S5FcGljR3JlZW5OQm9sZC5saXRlIl0&token=bE1Vf6oK.

I cant think of anything else but if you try those i think you will be happy, not to mention the ability to switch between launcher pro / adw etc. Dont forget to make sure all ur radio builds line up, or in my experience your power usage is all nuts.

Oh and another thing, hell ive edited this like 10 times so far, i think the crap on the screen is too big. Instead of changing the drawr / desktop spacing or grid settings change your dpi with the density setting. Stock is 240, i use 190 in this one, i was using 160 in the old rom above but this rom wont allow you to go lower than 190 - of course that was with launcher pro, i didnt try going lower with ADW installed wich is what i use that comes with this ROM. Also, many say it doesnt work, i think it helps to each their own if you can get your tbolt up for 24+ hours like me with light / moderate use without it good job, otherwise use Render FX. I use Render FX Cool Blue. It changest the screen color so slightly i cant tell and its intentions are to change the way WHITE is rendered since it has been proven to be the biggest power drain on displays and another reason everyone suggests NOT to use google as a browser home screen :) But if you do use COol blue and it helps.

Ok last edit i swear, the GPS issue is easily fixed without some program to install (i personally hate installing stuff that is unecessary) I have done this on 3 or 4 thunderbolts so i cant say it works 100% of the time for all thunderbolts but i can say it has worked 100% of the time on at least 3 thunderbolts (the 4th one didnt have the gps issue) This is tedious but it works and if you remember it next time you wipe, it will work without thinking about it. Go to a rom were the GPS locks. Doesnt have to be fast or slow just get it locked. Go directly into CWM directly after the lock and wipe and isntall your new ROM. Your phone will get a lock in seconds with the new rom thereafter. Another helping hand will be the IMOSEYON kernal and the MR4 Radios. All that takes part in your locking abilities. It works for me every time. I dont even think about it anymore, when i wipe i make sure ive locked at least once before wiping.

Im excited for CM9! lol Even if i do get my Galaxy S3 im still going to have my Tbolt in the family.

Ang1dust - First, thank you for all of the information. The last time I used Liquid smooth, my radios worked fine. GPS wasn't a problem there. My issue with Liquid is that there is only one wallpaper to choose from that's included in the ROM and it's boring. I have checked out all of the other ADW themes and to be hones, I don't like them. I'm pretty plain and am good with the base ADW theme and icon color, etc. I just like planet and the gray and blue android themed wallpaper in CM7.

For the most part, CM7 does work. When I use fancy widgets and I'm outside, it finds my exact location and GPS fix works. When I'm inside in my office, it doesn't find me. It thinks I'm in New Salem, IL. Dolphin browser does exactly the same thing. I seriously believe the radios from Thunderstick is what screwed me up. I didn't have EvDo in my radio choices until I tested out that ROM.

When I'm using Liquid Smooth, Dolphin has me in the correct location, as does fancy widgets - indoors or out. That's why I'm certain it has to be something in the system with CM7. The only reason I'm using it, like I said, is the wallpapers.

Regarding the IMOSEYON kernal, I've had that installed on Liquid and that's part of why it works so well, I think. Can the same thing be installed for CM7 and would it work correctly w/o crashing my phone?

I'm getting excited waiting for the ICS stuff and really hope I don't have this problem. I've tried the MIUI version of ICS and I like it, but the MMS doesn't work. Otherwise it would be my DD. I got into flashing because I wanted to fix the problems with the stock ROM when it was on Froyo. I've done that and got flash happy and now I think I'm reaping the consequences of using Thunderstick. I just want to use CM7 but get it to use the GPS correctly. If it can get fancy widgets and dolphin to target me correctly like liquid does, I'll stick with CM7. I would only go back to Liquid for that.

Thank you for all your hard work in putting that all together as well. I see how you get your phone to last as long as it does. Mine will usually go about 18-20 hours or even as long as 36 if I let it sit w/light use in either Liquid or CM7.

Any more ideas on really just the GPS would be great. I may bite the bullet and go back to Liquid just because it works right. Any way to port the themes to the SDCard and make them work in Liquid?

Well i guess what im trying to say is i dont undrstand what issue you have with wallpapers. I use Zedge, *looks at how many wall papers i could apply to my phone - 500,000+* Just open zedge, find a wall paper and it download and apply it for you. When it comes to themes or other things you can either download some that are on the market, most work with "possible errors". The 2 that i mentioned before were the best. If you dont like those just make one. I havent tried it cause i like epic's.

UOT Kitchen. Kitchen

Its pretty awesome to just modify a couple things like you seem like your stating.

When it comes to the GPS. I speak for any rom. Simply get a lock and then wipe immidiately and install on the same CWM boot. It works for me every time.

I have used zedge before too. I suppose part of it is the wallpapers, but the GPS is really the thing that gets me. I think I will go back to liquid. I have downloaded the files you suggest and definitely will try them. I think my overall question was 'is there a ROM that is cm7 and has wallpapers that are the same, and where GPS works.' But the replies and information have been awesome. Its why I keep using this board. Thank you for your time and suggestions ang1dust.
