Another small hole?

I'm thinking (along with the small hole on top of the phone next to the SIM card slot) the small hole on the back, right of the phone, above the speaker, is a mic. But why would they put a mic right next to the speaker?
The only reason I'm asking is the case I have covers it up, anyone know what it is?

It's probably for some sort of noise cancellation.

So,,, should I mark my case, and drill out a small hole so it can do whatever it needs to do?

I would just try the case first and THEN if you have any issues you can make a modification to your case.

I "think" its a proximity sensor b/c if i sweep my hand over the area of the hole the phone wakes. weird place though b/c its sits right at the edge of the lip of my cheap cimo case.

According to Motorola that's a microphone (4), most likely for noise reduction.

I bought a Tudia case from Amazon and it has a hole in the case for that hole #4 . It was a fairly cheap case and has the rubber inner part and hard plastic back.

This is the clear case that came with my G7 Plus and the small hole is there.

Thanks guys (and gals). I did do a little test, I took the case off and started a video and rubbed over the two spots and confirmed it was a speaker. Thanks for also finding the layout too, I looked for that and couldn't find it before I posted.

So far I love it, this is my 3rd (I think) moto phone. I love the lack of bloatware, and the moto actions on these phones.
