Is it necessary or useful on an android? Putting eset on some PCs and wondering if the multi device option is worth it.

To be honest, I think it is a matter of opinion. As long as you do the right things (i.e Don't download apks from weird websites, do visting websites like iamavirus dot com) you should be fine. I personally have Comodo Anti-Virus installed. It creates some sense of security :)

Also keep in mind that Google is now doing automatic scans of all apps that you install, which is quickly making 3rd party antivirus apps superfluous. But those antivirus apps often have some nice antitheft features that may be worthwhile. I use Lookout, which will take a photo with the front facing camera if someone unsuccessfully tries to unlock the device 3 times in a row. Lookout will then email that photo to you, so you can see who's trying to unlock your phone.

I like to use "clean master" for my note 3. It's a great app.

I use CM Security, it has a cleaning option (like clean master) a find phone option, and antivirus. Very Reliable.
