If you want customization, I recommend Nova Launcher. I also really like NiLS floating panel for lockscreen notifications. I don't really play games, sorry.

For a clean, efficient home scree / app launcher, I've been happy with Smart Launcher Pro. For the dazzle & glitz, GO Launcher but I've read there are a few glitches.

As in the launchers? They can give more customization options to your phone. You can easily try one. Nova is a good one. You will have to set it up once you download it. If you don't like it, you can uninstall it and your phone will go back to the stock launcher.

The primary benefit of using 3rd party launchers is the ability to customize home screens and the app drawer. Good launchers also allow us to use custom gestures (double tap, two finger swipe, etc.) to launch specific apps or activities. And some phones run smoother with certain launchers.
