Any camera updates coming for the HTC One M8?

Is there any chance of HTC modifying its camera app along the lines of the mod created by one-time xda developer Jishnu Sur?

According to Android Authority, "the mod makes a substantial number of tweaks to file bitrates in an effort to store higher quality files, alterations to color reproduction, as well as changes to the camera’s shutter speeds for help with different lighting conditions." They go on to list the changes made to the camera's functionality as:

• Made the Video Bitrates to CBR [Constant Bitrate] 35Mbps.
• Added action scene.
• Added flash and self-timer in burst scene mode.
• Support for flash in EIS Scene mode.
• Added flash for night mode.
• Removed the fixed resolution limit for panorama shots.
• Flash support added for panorama shots.
• Self-timer support added for Panorama shots.
• Support speed increase to 1/9000 and set the minimum shutter speed to 1/100.
• Modified media profiles for better Audio Quality.
• JPEG quality bumped to 95.
• Removed the hardcoded bitrate limited by HTC.
• Sound bitrates improved from 156kbps to 192kbps for clearer and louder sound while recording.
• Better color reproduction in all Manual, Auto and HDR modes.

I ask mainly because, being a klutz and a coward, I have no desire to root my M8 so that I can flash this mod, but some camera tweaks would be welcome.

Couldn't say for sure, but probably sometime in the future. Most definitely with the release of L.

Could you link to this camera mod? I would like to give it a try.

Google "Jishnu's camera mod HTC" and look for Version 3 on the Google+ page I tried to link to: I read a comment earlier today which claimed that V3 was the best.

If you skim through the discussion to the end, the writer provides links to updated versions of the mod and support files to people who can't get the mod to work.

(I'm guessing--I don't know from apk and odex.)
